Exceptional Family Member Program
|
|
The Exceptional Family Member Program ( EFMP) is a Department of the Army program working in concert with other military and civilian agencies to service families with special needs. The EFMP is designed to provide a comprehensive, coordinated, multidisciplinary approach for medical, educational, community support, housing, and personnel-type services to families with Exceptional Family Members (EFM's). EFMP Manager offers administrative assistance to soldiers with EFM's in several areas; help with enrollments and updates, family travel requests, exceptions to policy, family readiness planning, and transition assistance to new medical and educational providers is given upon request. The EFMP Manager also maintains a Resource Library containing diagnosis-related information, a community resource directory, and research and advocacy organizations on the global, national, state, and local levels. Soldiers on active duty enroll in the program when they have a family member with a physical, emotional, developmental, or intellectual disability requiring specialized services so their needs can be considered in the military assignment process. Fort Greely being a remote facility with limited services, any EFMP client will have to be screened PRIOR to accepting an assignment to Fort Greely. Non compliance of this can cause undue hardship for an individual or family.

Army Family Action Plan
|
|
If you are aware of issues that are affecting the well-being of Fort Greely or
the Global Army then please fill out the AFAP Issue Form
What is AFAP?
The AFAP is a grassroots level process that identifies issues of concern for the GLOBAL Army. The AFAP is a program that gives everyone in the Army the opportunity to influence his/her own quality of life and standard of living.
How is AFAP Accomplished?>
Fort Greely will host an AFAP conference that will bring together representatives of the TOTAL ARMY. These representatives, serving as conference delegates, will evaluate issues that affect our quality of life at Fort Greely and throughout the Army.
What qualifies as an AFAP issue?
Issues that affect everyone at Fort Greely or the Global Army are good AFAP issues. The focus should be on improving facilities, changing policy or regulation, and just making things work better for everyone. Issues may be on pay and allowance, readiness, retention and training, single Soldier issues, PCS moves, medical, dental, schools, childcare, AAFES, MWR activities, and volunteers.
What is not an AFAP issue?
Remember issues should focus on improving the quality of life for everyone, not just one persons "Pet Rock". If you are having problems with a facility or particular organization then please report to the commander or manager of that facility or you may wish to go online to http://ICE.DISA.mil to make a customer comment about any military installation and their services.
