Mission:
The purpose of the Outdoor Recreation Equipment Rental Shop is to
provide rest, relaxation, and recreation for Army personnel, their
families and other members of the total Defense Force.

What can
Outdoor Rec do for you?
The Outdoor Recreation Program offers many diverse activities that
allow participants to see and enjoy some of the rich scenery that
Alaska has to offer. Including but not limited to:
Winter: Snowmachine rides & ice fishing trips to
various lakes and rivers in the interior. We offer classes on skiing
(both downhill and cross country), snowboarding, and snowshoeing.
Fire Tower Hill offers a gentle ski type slope for such activities,
as well as sledding for the younger kids. The ice rink is available
for use all winter, and skates can be rented at Outdoor Recreation
Shop.

Summer:
A.T.V. rides to many of the scenic destinations around the local
area, taking advantage of the long Alaskan summer days. Rental of
watercraft both powered and
 manual for some of the local lakes
(canoes, jon boats, rubber rafts, pontoon boats). We have many
different types of camping and fishing gear for rent, to use at your
leisure. Fishing trips to all the local hotspots to fish for such
species as, Northern Pike, Salmon, Trout, Grayling, etc., can be
scheduled for your convenience. |
